My previous employers were the Financial Conduct Authority (previously known as FSA) & Bank of England. They were both large, corporate, and reputable organisations that invested in their employees. Both organisations infrastructure was designed in a way for HR to support the business strategically and operationally.
I was part of the HR department which supported and advised over 2000 staff, on performance management, policies and procedures, disciplinary’s and much more.
More recently, I have spent my time supporting smaller to medium businesses with restructures and internal procedures, it was then that I really started to see the challenges they face compared to larger organisations.
Naturally, larger organisations have the foundations to create a workforce that accounts for all aspects of business and employs quality people to meet their overall company objectives.
I decided to set up an HR Consultancy and Business Support. PocketSmart is a value-adding HR service both on a strategic and operational level, through face-to-face contact, email, and phone to many clients. Supporting small to medium size businesses with human resources, project management, recruitment, and compliance.
The services and advice are affordable and personable, making the process for my clients an easy one.
The support network I use is a small friendly team, CIPD qualified members with over 70 years of HR experience between them. I use subject matter experts, which provides my clients with the reassurance they are getting accurate information and high-level results.
